Wonder by: R.J. Palacio

Wonder is about a 10 year old boy named auggie (August) who was born with a rare birth defect giving him a "deformed" face. Auggie has never been to a real school before, he's been homeschooled all of his life, but his parents think it's time for him to learn in a real classroom with a real teacher. At first auggie doesn't want to go to school, but after taking a private tour of the school and meeting some kids that would be in his class, he decideds to give it a shot. Not long after starting school he starts to make encounters with Jullian, a boy who bullies him. But thankfully he has his group of trusty friends to back him up. At the end of the year the principal informs auggie that Jullian will not be returning to school next year. A tale of growing up and dealing with a different set of struggles is shown within the story. However the book seemed a little dumed down, It also seemed to go on and on about one subject for awhile. I'd have to give it a 2/5 stars. 

The Hunger Games by: Suzann Collins

Set in the future The Hunger Games is about Katniss Everdeen and her sister Prim. When Prim is picked for mandatory game of life or death Katniss can not bear to see her 12 year old sister die so young, so she herself volunteers to take her place. She and a boy her age named Peeta must compete against each other and 22 other tributes from the surrounding districts of Panam for their lives. The entire game will be broadcast to all of Panam. Before really going into the competition Peeta admits he has a bit of a crush on Katniss, giving the story a twist and adding some romance to it. Although the two must compete against each other, the rules change not long after being in the arena where only 2 tributes from the same district can compete. A beautiful novel including it all, "The Hunger Games" will keep you on the edge of your seat watching and waiting for what's going to happen next. Such a great book it's difficult to put down once you pick it up, The Hunger Games gets a 5 start rating.

The Fault In our stars By: John Green

The faults in our stars is about Hazel, a teenage girl living with lung cancer. Hazel Grace is just an average girl, aside from the lung cancer part. But when she meets Augustus Waters her life is changed for good. Augustus Waters is also a cancer survivor, together they fall in love. When Hazel shares her favorite book with Gus they really connect. When they get to the end of the book there is no conclusion, the book literally ends mid-sentence. Together they set out to Amsterdam to meet the author of their favorite book and get their own private conclusion. When they finally meet the author he shares no such thing with them leaving them completely disappointed. Later when they get back from their displeasing trip to Amsterdam Gus tells Hazel that he has been diagnosed with cancer again, he doesn't have much time before... Hazel stays with him everyday and helps his mom and sisters take care of him in his final days. One day his mom calls Hazel to tell her Gus has perished. Hazel finally sees the good in the author of her favorite author when he surprisingly shows his face at Gus's funeral. Later when talking to a close friend of her's and Gus's he mentions that Gus was writing his own ending of their favorite book, just for Hazel. Hazel searches near and far for this special ending. I must say John Green has out done himself with "The Faults in our Stars" it is a phenomenal book that I would recommend to anyone! It by far deserves a 5 star rating!  

The Carrie Diaries chapter 20

in chapter 20 Carrie goes on another date with George, this time they go to a ski lodge. While there, they run into one of Georges old friends. Carrie recgonizes her, but can't put a name to her face. Low and behold it turns out to be Amelia Kydd, Sebastian's sister. When they finally recognize each other Amelia says something about Carrie and her relationship with Sebastian. This surprises George, since Carrie never told him about Sebastian. On the ride home Carrie apoligizes to George, but he quickly comes back with the fact that he to is seeing someone else. When he tells Carrie to be careful with Sebastian, Carrie decides George isn't worth it anymore. For she told Dorrit just after that conversation "I don't think we'll be seeing much more of George Carr"

Pretty Little liars book #9 Twisted

In this book the story behind the liars "spring break trip to Jamaica gone wrong" is revealed. While on the trip the girls thought they met what was Ali pretending to be someone else, but it really was someone else. in fear of her killing one of them, they accidently killed her in the process of defending themselves. They vowed to never tell the truth about what happened that night in Jamaica, even when they started to get mysterious postcards from "A".   Aria goes on a ski trip with her boyfriend and his new live-in drop dead gorgeous transfer student, Klaudia, who says shes from Finland but speaks perfect english and intends on making a move on Noel whenever she can. Hannah's father begins his campaign for senator, during a photoshoot Hannah is complimented by a handsome photographer who says he would love to shoot some pictures of her sometime. Hannah eagerly agrees, but soon finds herself in trouble when she must come up with 5,000$ our else some "not so nice" photos of hannah will be everywhere and her fathers campaign will be ruined. Emily makes a new friends named Chloe whose father can pull some strings and get Emily a swimming scholarship, but he would also like to pull some other "Strings" particularly Emily's. When Chloe finds out about this she gets the wrong idea and begins to hate Emily, even though Emily shared her darkest secret with her, you know the one about Emily getting pregnant with Issac's baby and keeping it from her parents. Spencer on the other hand starts to have a "thing" for her new step-brother, but when he reveals that he likes men to her she still can't turn it off. When his life is in danger because of his own father she spills the secret and he hates her for getting hi shipped off to military school. And Finally when the girls her word that a dead body has been found off the coast of Jamaica, they pray its not the girl they thought was Ali, but it's identified to be just that.

Pretty Little Liars book #8 Wanted.

You might think that this is the last book in the pretty little liars series but its not, Its only the 8th book. Basically because it been a few weeks since I read this book I don't remember what happened so this will be the quick version. So Ali came back as Courtney, demented twin, who really was pretending to be Ali for years and was really friends with the girls. She was the one who was murdered, not Ali. Ali came back for revenge, which she didn't quite get when she tricked the girls, and tried to kill them all including Melissa. everyone except for Ali survived, or so they thought, which you will find out in the next book. Also, Hanna's dad is running for senate. Spencer's parents are getting a divorce. Aria gets worried when her new boyfriend Noel warms up to courtney. And Emily had a feeling that it was really Ali coming back for her.

Pretty Little Liars Book #7 Heartless

I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat waiting for the conclusion to the last book about our little liars, and I must say not all the questions are answered, they have yet to come. Last time our Pretty Little Liars saw what they thought was Ali in the woods, but at the hospital the doctors claim it was a hallucination, due to the fact that they were deprived of oxygen. Emily however was convinced that Ali has come back from the dead just to be friends with them again. Spencer we know thinks shes adopted and she might as well should have been, but after the fire her parents were overjoyed that nothing happened to her that they were willing to spoil her rotten. But Spencer knows it will come to an end as soon she tells them all her college savings are gone, but instead her parents shrug it off telling her they will get the money back and also telling her that Olivia was her Birth mom, sort of at least. You see after her parents had Melissa the doctor said it would be very difficult for her mother to have another baby, so they used he moms egg and her dads sperm and had it implanted in Olivia. So Olivia did give birth to her, but genetically she is her parents 100%. But after looking through her fathers old Yale yearbooks she uncovers another family secret: A long time ago her father had an affair with Mrs. Dilaurentis, which is right when Spencer realizes Ali was her half sister. Aria has been getting in touch with her inner soul, she went to a seance in hope of contacting Ali. While there she ruins into Noel Kahn, her definition of a typical rosewood boy. Noel is also her brother Mikes best friend, and he somewhat has a crush on Aria. So the next day when he shows up at Arias new home she tells him that he's not really the type to be going to seances, but he tells her he really goes to them in hope of contacting his deceased brother, the one nobody really knew. Aria immediately feels sorry for him telling him she would love to come to his hot tube party this weekend. At the party Aria becomes the laughing stock do to the girls recent accusing of Ali being alive, just in time Noel rescues her asking her if she wants to go to the valentines dance. Hanna's father claims he received an email from the schools physiatrist suggesting she go to a nearby mental clinic. Her father also agrees noticing that she has seemed particularly stressed lately. once at the clinic a small girl named Tara takes her under her wing until Hanna realizes the girls are "losers" and a more popular girl named Iris offers to be her friend since they are room mates. Iris shows her a secret attic room that only she knows the passcode to, and she continuously mentions her previous room mate Courtney. One day at a group therapy session Tara tells the therapist of Iris's magazines and shows her one to prove it, specifically one that Hanna is in that tells everything she's gone through starting with the first note from A. Iris is not only shocked but angry with Hanna because she told Hanna the real reason why she was in the clinic but Hanna lied about why she was. Iris has a complete meltdown, in the end of the session Tara and Iris where in trouble. When Hanna wakes up she's in her room and realizes that one of the drawings on the wall of the attic was a drawing of Ali, she goes to Iris to confront her on how she knows Ali but Iris doesn't have any idea what shes talking about, and just then Hanna is taken away by a a few Rosewood police officers. The same thing happened to Aria as she was visiting Ali's grave, and to Spencer as soon as she told her parents she knew about the affair. Emily, has been in Amish country all this time, she was sent there by A telling her she would figure out if Ali was alive if she went there and talked to Lucy Zook. All Emily really found out was that Lucy's sister Leah left Amish country for a man she loved named Darren Wilden, to that day she still hadn't returned so everyone assumed she was dead, they even had a grave for her. As soon as she stepped of the bus in Rosewood she to was taken away by a Rosewood cop, the 4 girls all meet up at the police station where they share what they've learned over the past few days, after awhile Wilden told them they were allowed to leave and that they've found Ali's killer. His name is Billy Ford and he not only killed Ali but he also killed Jenna just a few days before. Before Ali's death he was one of the workers building the Dilaurentis's 20 person gazebo, he was recently working on a broken pipe at Jenna's house, not only was he the killer, but he was also A and he had been stalking the girls ever since they started working on the gazebo. SO the question still remains: did the girls really see Ali, or was it just a hallucination? The answer: neither.

The Carrie Diaries Chapter 18

Carrie is given a chance to write for the school paper, but can only think of one thing to write about: Donna LaDonna. After two suggestions she decides to write about cliques, and how they can make you or break you. One afternoon while talking to Sebastian, he mentions something about seeing Walt somewhere, but he didn't want to talk about it, and wouldn't say anything more on the subject. Carrie, not only being curious about Walt but also worried about Sebastian and Lila spending so much time, goes with Sebastian to the mall, even though she should be working on her piece for the paper. At a school assembly it is announced about Carries article, all of her friends congratulate her except for Lila, who's been acting strange lately. Could it have something to do Sabastian?

The Carrie Diaries Chapter 17

In chapter 17 Carrie asks for permission to be on the school newspaper, and she is quickly granted the spot. However she is worried that Lali is trying to steal Sebastian from her when she constantly brings him up in a conversation about Peter, who seems to be interested in Donna La Donna. After swim practice Carrie must attend her first newspaper meeting, but feels sick to her stomach when Lali offers to go to the mall with Sebastian since Carrie can't. During the newspaper meeting she hears the story about a girl named Gayle's sister Ramona, who got turned down by the cheerleading squad, or Donna La Donna rather, because she was "to ugly", during a discussion of what articles to put in the paper. Peter Gives Carrie a ride to the mall, on the way Carrie ask's why Gayle can't have a chance to write the story about the cheerleading discrimination. Peter say's Gayles annoying and once you start talking to her you can't get rid of her, therefore if he let her do an article then she would want to keep doing articles. Through this discussion Carrie learns who the true Peter is especially when he say's Carrie is "funny". Carrie is so enraged that she doesn't know why Maggie likes him, or is even going out with him since he seems to be extremely interested in Donna La Donna.

The Carrie Diaries chapter 16

Every year Laila has a party for the swim team, so of course Carrie attends bringing Sebastian with her. But she doesn't want to leave her house so soon because she's expecting a call from George. She sent him some of a story she wrote to see what he thought about it. When he finally calls just at the last minute Carrie is relieved but disappointed when he tells her she should write what she knows. At the party Peter announces he will be going to Harvard next year, Maggie however is jealous because she thinks that she won't be going to the school of her choice and doesn't want Peter to have something she can't. Maggie takes Carrie aside and asks her if she really wanted something how far would she go to get it? Carrie makes sure maggie isn't talking about getting pregnant but she is. Carrie tells her "do you wanna be changing diapers when all your friends are out have a good time?" After that they return to the party where Carrie finds Sebastian dancing with Laila, she ignores it because she has to think of a way for her to practice her writing but also have people tell her what they think without her asking them to, then it hits her: she could write for the school newspaper.

The Carrie Diaries Chapter 15.

Carrie goes on her date with George, and during their date Carrie decides to tell him she has a boyfriend, but just before she can their dinner is inturuppted by a phone from Missy, Carries sister telling her Dorit was arrested. Carrie and George go to the police station and she finds out Dorrit was arrested for stealing a pack of gum. After that they all go home where Dorrit finds out she will most likely have to do community service for her crime. George tells her of the story he was arrested for jumping the turn-style at the subway. Carrie never does tell George that she's going out with Sebastian.

The Carrie Diaries, Chapter 14

As Carrie gets ready for a date with Sebastian she searches for a french bag that her mother left her after she died. When she can't find it she suspects her sister Dorrit took it, and she goes into Dorrits room to look, only to find it completely ruined with pink nail polish. But Carrie "re-makes" the bag by painting her name on it and decorating it so perfectly that when she goes on her date with Sebastian two different people comment on how nice it is and how they would love to have one just like it! However she begins to worry while on her date with Sebastian they have a small argument and she realizes she's scared of losing Sebastian to Donna La Donna. She also hopes Sebastian doesn't find out about her date with George, she tried to get out of the date but her father wouldn't let her, this makes her realize how fragile they're relationship really is.

The Carrie Diaries Chapter 13

Maggie admits to Carrie that she had sex with peter, she's scared she might gets pregnant if she does it again. She hears about a doctor from peter, who heard from Donna La Donna, that can give her birth control pills, but she doesn't want to go alone so she makes Carrie go with her. While waiting at the doctor's office they see a girl come out in tears, with her friends saying "it's gonna be ok, your gonna be alright". When leaving the doctor's office Carrie can't help but think about the girl in tears and if she just had an abortion, or if she's pregnant.  

Pretty Little Liars book #6 Killer

Well this time these pretty little liars are all up to something different. Spencer went off to meet her New Yorker Mommy named Olivia Caldwell, she tries to squeeze out of her parents that she's adopted one last time but they just wouldn't come out with it. However as soon as they're dinner is over Olivia has to jet off to Paris for her honeymoon with her new husband. Aria moves in with her dad to avoid the large problem of her mother's new boyfriends. Since she's out of the house so much Ella begins to miss her, so she invites her to the grand opening of a new hotel where a piece of Ella's art is displayed. Soon Arias starts seeing Jason Diluarentis, and she finds out at the grand opening that Jason was once a patient at this former mental institution, with a little help from Emily of course. Emily, Emily, Emily. She loses her virginity to Issac, her new boyfriend. However when his strict mother finds out she threatens Emily telling her to never set foot in her home again. When she tell's Issac of this he doesn't believe her until he later finds a picture of them were Emily's head was cut out of the picture. When he apologizes to Emily she decides she doesn't want him anymore.  Hannah on the other hand is having a great time with her punishment with Kate. She has to go everywhere with Kate. Finally her Dad starts to let up on the punishment when she starts going on dates with Arias younger brother Mike. he has a different plan in mind, he wants either Hannah or Kate for his prom date. When all the LAX boys bet on who he can take and Hannah agrees to go if he won't invite Kate to the hotel opening then Hannah learns of the bet, however she agrees to go with him when he tells her he likes her better. Spencer want's to become closer to her real mommy so she buy's an apartment in New York hoping to get away from her "fake" family. She calls the realtor Olivia said could help her and gives him the number to her bank account holding all of her college funds so she can have the apartment of her dreams, and its only steps away from her real mommy's house. When she goes to see her new apartment she quickly learns there isn't one, and there is no Olivia Caldwell either, when she goes home she finds her bank account has been wiped clean. The others soon find out it was wilden and jason who killed Ali, with a confirmation from Ian, who wasn't dead in the woods and is still on the run from the cops. Emily and Hannah go to Spencer to tell her while Aria runs to get an old piece of the time capsule flag that was Ali's before she died. Ian warns them that Wilden may do something to hurt them because they know he did it, just as this is happening they begin to smell gasoline and know exactly whats going on, Aria smells the same thing to as she runs through the woods to get to Spencer's. on her way everything begins to go up in flames around her, she stops running as soon as she hears a cry for help from a dark figure. she helps the faceless person out and they both reach Spencer's safely just as the others are. There they all find that the dark figure has a familiar heart shaped face and beautiful voice, when they pull of they're hood they see to they're surprise it's none other than Ali. But the question is, was it really Ali, or was it something or someone else?

Well, well, well. lets see what our pretty little liars are up to this time. with Monas death being so tragic and the school, police, and her parents not trusting her after her honesty with the Golden Orchid people spencer doesn't know who to trust anymore, especially after her grandmother's death she finds she's not in her will and might be adopted. However her trusty friend who she's always been second to, Andrew Baker, helps her find that if she may be adopted she can find her real mom by using a website called "I Love You" that helps adopted children find they real birth parents. Hanna on the other hand becomes extremely super stictiouse when her mother moves to singapore for work and her Father and his "new" family move in. That means her darling stepsister Kate, will now be going to school with her. However one day during breakfast Kate mentions that she may have an STD, Hanna will later use this to not only get herself in much trouble, but make Kate seem un-eriesistable. Emily on the other hand doesn't know what team she's on, if she's gay, if she's straight, or if she's bio. At a church event she meets Isaac, a handsome guitar player who take quite a bit of liking to her, at a large social event she fears her pear's or the new A will tell Isaac before she even gets the chance to she finally tells him. Aria goes to an art show were she meets a guy who the next night is her mother's date! She's scared because he came onto her a bit at the show and still does when no one else is in the room. one day when they're all alone he kisses her, she quickly leaves him trying to get away from that uncomfortable feeling. She's also scared that the new A might tell her mom about how "close" they are. Ian is  convicted of murdering Ali, he is put on house arrest but somehow finds a way to get out to see spencer and tell her there's something missing to the story, they cops know it but they ignore it. At an important rosewood event spencer sneaks out to her backyard after receiving a text from Ian telling her to meet her behind the barn she reluctantly goes, with Hanna, Aria, and Emily chasing after her they discover Ians dead body, A new text tells them

in chapter 8 carrie tells her friends about her little chat with Sebastian after they left. they never did finish painting the roof of the old shed. Carrie and her father then go away for a day so Carrie can be interviewed for Pembrook College. at her interview she meets a nice boy named George. George goes to the college and talks to Carrie before and after her interview. later he takes her out to a concert and after that as he drops her off gives her a good night kiss. he then kept asking for more but Carrie couldn't stop thinking about Sebastian and stopped him right there. when carrie got back she went to Maggie to talk her out of her room when she mentioned that she had sex with Peter. she tries to get Carrie to break up with \Walt for her but Carrie refuses, instead she warns him of what lies in his future.

in chapter 7 of the carrie diaries the mouse and Carrie decide to paint the roof of the old barn with their graduation year in red. at first it was just the 2 of them but in the end the whole gang comes along. just as Carrie is about to paint the last number on she slips and nearly slides right of the roof, until Sebastian grabs her hand and saves her. thats when the cops showed up. they quickly hid the boozes and convinced the cops they weren't up to no good, leaving Carrie on the roof with Sebastian. after they talked for awhile it was then that Carrie Bradshaw's life split in two: before and after she kissed Sebastian Kydd.

in chapter six carrie tells the story of the to biggest relationships she's ever had. the first was withs guy named sam. she says all she ever did with sam was make out that it never went anywhere else. another was a relationship she had when she went out with a  guy named doug. doug wanted to go all the way with her but carrie didn't feel anything between them so she refused. the next day doug apologized to her and took her to the "gun tree" ( a tree that was struck by lightning into the shape of a pistol ) when they got their they got in a bigger fight when carrie tried to get out of the car while it was moving and she ended up walking back.

Upcoming Books!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to tell you that I am reading Wicked but it will probably be awhile before I'm done and can write a post about it. I will also try to keep posting about the Carrie Diaries and do a few more book such as the finale book to the Series of Unfortunate Events (which for the recored my internet crashes everytime I try to do that post) and Wait Till Helen Comes, Every Sole a Star and Rules which I am reading right now! Pretty Little Liars book #2 Flawless By: Sara Shepeard

Well well well more secrets to tell about those pretty little liars! In "Flawless" Aria decides to take a break from her teacher boyfriend and go out with Hannah's ex Sean to an upcoming dance called Foxy. Hannah tries to win Sean back by surprisingly showing up at one of his V-club meetings. Spencer does something most girls don't do everyday with her sisters ex-boyfriend Wren until she finds out Milissa isn't quite finished with him yet however they both decide to break up with him at the same time. With Emily and Ben being over someone new has stepped into her life: Toby Cavanaugh. Toby not only rescues her from an unpleasant encounter with Ben at a swim meet but he also takes her to foxy. Poor little Hannah has to miss Aria with Sean to go with her dad and step-family to a fancy dinner where she finds her new "sister" is not as nice as she wants Hannah's dad to think. Spencer takes a boy from school, But wait! where is "A" during all of this? well yes all the girls are still getting those strange texts, but the liars might be onto something! The girls think Toby is sending the messages and is Alli's killer. especially when Toby admits to Emily that he's happy she's dead, really because of what she did to his sister Jenna. But Hannah soon learns, from the cop her mom is sleeping with, that Toby has a close alibi. Or at least he had one before a jogger found his body dead in the woods behind Emily's house. But just before its all over the girls find out one more secret before the book is over: The reason why Alli mis-fired the firework that blinded Jenna she saw Toby "fooling around" with Jenna in his tree house. So thats what Alli had on Toby. What will become of these Pretty Little Liars next, Who knows?

The Carrie Diaries Chapter 5

in chapter 5 of The Carrie Diaries Carrie and the gang (Walt, Maggie, Peter, The Mouse, and Lali) go to a party. There they see Sebastian Kydd. While at the Party one of the Jen's freaks out over how cute Sebastian is and locks herself in the bathroom. with the party kind of being a bust and no bathroom to use the gang decide to go to The Emerald, an average bar in Castlebury. There they once again run into the gorgeous Sebastian Kydd, and his "date" Donna La Donna. after they have ordered their drinks Carrie and Lali decide to do some dancing, so they turn on the Juke Box and start dancing when finally  Sebastian cuts in to dance with each of the girls. According to The Mouse he was mostly dancing with Carrie, after they've done some dancing Carrie runs into Sebastian by the bathrooms where he tells her he'll drop by her house sometime.

She told them telling secrets kept them close, which is why Ali new a juicy secret about each one of them: for Aria it was her dads affair with one of his students, for Spencer it was the kiss she shared with her sister Milissa's boyfriend Ian, For Hannah it was the binge and purge she often did after eating most meals, and for Emily it was the way she liked Alison, she liked her so much she kissed her once she would have done it agian but Ali had to tell her she didn't like her that way. Ali vowed not to share any of these secrets, just like they all vowed not to ever talk about the "Jenna Thing". But she must have told some body if she disappeared never to be seen again tearing her friends apart, until a year later when they found her body, dead. Its just around all this happening that, all four girls begin to get mysterious texts from somebody by the name of A. But it can't be Ali shes dead. So who's this "A" person who knows all the secrets Ali new about them? All and All this was a good book the ending left people wondering what was going to happen next but to find out you'll just have to read the book.
